Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about our services, eligibility, insurance, and the paid family caregiver program.

What types of care do you provide?

We specialize in non-medical, non-skilled home care. Our services include Personal Care Provider (PCP), Homemaker, Home Support Services (HSS), and Relative Care. We do not provide nursing, therapy, or other skilled medical services.

Do you accept Medicaid?

Yes. We are an approved Colorado Medicaid provider and accept clients enrolled in Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waiver programs including the EBD (Elderly, Blind & Disabled), BI (Brain Injury), FSSP, and SLS waivers.

Do you accept Medicare?

Yes, we work with qualified Medicare beneficiaries. Please call us to confirm your specific coverage.

Do you accept Medicare Advantage plans or private insurance?

No. At this time, we do not accept Medicare Advantage plans (Part C), HMOs, or private/commercial insurance. We accept Colorado Medicaid, Medicare, and private pay (out-of-pocket) only.

What is the Relative Care or paid family caregiver program?

Through Colorado Medicaid's Consumer Directed Attendant Support Services (CDASS) and other HCBS waiver options, eligible family members can become paid caregivers for their loved ones. The family member must be approved, background-checked, and trained. Spouses and parents of minor children are generally not eligible. Call us to learn more about your specific situation.

How do I know if my family member qualifies for services?

Eligibility for Medicaid-funded services requires Colorado residency, financial and functional eligibility for Medicaid, and enrollment in an HCBS waiver program. Private pay clients can begin services without Medicaid eligibility. Call our intake team — we'll walk you through the process at no charge.

Where do you provide services?

We serve Westminster, Denver, Aurora, Lakewood, Thornton, Arvada, Brighton, Broomfield, Northglenn, Commerce City, and the surrounding Denver Metro Area.

How quickly can services begin?

Private pay clients can often begin services within a few days. Medicaid clients require authorization from their case manager before services can begin, which may take additional time. We'll help you navigate the process as efficiently as possible.

Are your caregivers background-checked?

Yes. All Grace Home Care Agency caregivers undergo a thorough background check and must meet all Colorado state requirements before providing care.

I'm a family member already caring for my relative. Can I get paid?

Possibly, yes. If your loved one is enrolled in a Colorado Medicaid HCBS waiver program, you may be eligible to become a paid Relative Care provider under the CDASS program. Call us — this is one of our specialties and we can guide you through the eligibility and enrollment process.

What is the difference between Personal Care and Homemaker services?

Personal Care (PCP) involves hands-on physical assistance with personal hygiene and daily living activities — bathing, dressing, grooming, etc. Homemaker services focus on household tasks — cleaning, laundry, cooking, errands. Some clients need both; others need only one. We'll help you determine the right fit.
